After Heartlands and Headwaters

I want to live inside a John Wolseley landscape:

I want to appear odd,

slightly accidental,

and very much beautiful.

To know and feel with confidence that complex mixed-media is symbiotic

That overlapping pages of Japanese parchment and oven safe wax paper can weave dynamic scenes

That chalk smudges complement India ink,

and watercolours, charcoal.

I’d like to accept the harmony provided by pinning pages together

and find peace in all the pieces

I’d like to know that parchment flies –

Three dimensional and unapologetic.

And that the rustling Heartlands and Headwaters can combine in soulful symphony

But mostly,

I want to live inside a John Wolseley landscape;
so that I may learn to forgive the imperfect details and appreciate the view.
